Stephen Avenue is closed 24/7 to vehicle traffic April 1 to Oct 31, and closed to vehicle traffic from 6 am to 6 pm the rest of the year. A vehicle access permit is required to drive on Stephen Avenue during these road closures. This applies to all delivery, events, and construction vehicles. Please allow 7-10 business days for permit processing.

All construction work on Stephen Avenue and Barclay Parade requires a permit from Calgary Downtown Association. Applications MUST be submitted a minimum of four weeks prior to the commencement of work.

All Calgary Photography and Film permits are managed by the City’s Calgary Film Commission. They manage the initial permit process to ensure that your permit has all the exemptions that it needs.
