Stephen Avenue Seasonal Patio Application
The Calgary Downtown Association is pleased to be able to offer a seasonal patio program during the Spring and Summer months. Please note that seasonal patio applications require 5-7 business days for processing.
Downtown Activation Subsidy Application
The Calgary Downtown Association (CDA) is seeking proposals from local businesses, individuals, and organizations to activate downtown between the months of June – September, 2023. Applications will be accepted until April 21, 2023.
Photography & Film Permits
We issue permits for filming and photography on Stephen Avenue. All applications are done through Calgary Economic Development and reviewed in conjunction to assure the usage will not be abusive of our pedestrian experience or family-friendly positioning. Please note that permits require 3-5 business days for processing.
Vehicle Access Permit
Apply for Vehicle Access Permits for Stephen Avenue. Please note that permits require 3-5 business days for processing.
Display & Activation permits (Including Stampede)
For businesses on Stephen Avenue and Barclay Mall who would like to showcase their community spirit with western decor or performances, please note that you will require necessary permits through coordination with the CDA's Pedestrian Mall Manager. Permits require 3-5 business days for processing.
Busking Permit
Downtown Calgary is currently recruiting performers (musical and non-musical) for the busking program on Stephen Avenue and Barclay. This includes special events for 2022. Please note that permits require 3-5 business days for processing.
Construction Permits
We issue permits for Construction on Stephen Avenue and Barclay Mall. Applications are to be completed ONLINE. Applications MUST be submitted a minimum of four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of work.
