Stephen Avenue is closed 24/7 to vehicle traffic from April 1 to Oct 31 and closed to vehicle traffic from 6 am to 6 pm the rest of the year. A vehicle access permit is required to drive on Stephen Avenue during these road closures. This applies to delivery, events, and construction vehicles. Please allow 7-10 business days for permit processing.

Stephen Avenue does NOT include the Olympic Plaza/Burns Building Block (200 8th Ave SE). Contact 3-1-1, or 403-268-2489 if you are outside Calgary, to request permits for this block. Back-alley access/loading docks do not require a permit.

• The Vehicle Access permit allows for parking up to 20 minutes on the Avenue for pick-up/drop-off purposes only.
• It does not generally allow driving on the Avenue between the hours of 11:00AM - 2:00PM due to high pedestrian traffic.
• The permit is NOT valid during City of Calgary snow removal.
