Calgary Downtown Association: What drew you to the Downtown Ambassador position?

Tabitha: The position of Downtown Ambassador seemed like the perfect place to start my career as a social worker. This position allows me to really get to know all types of different individuals and to better understand how one’s social location affects their day to day life. I just completed my Social Work Diploma, so this role in which I can engage with such a diverse group of people who frequent the Downtown core was right up my alley. As a social worker, I understand the importance of building community, and how it improves the lives of all who are a part of it. 

CDA: What do you look forward to most about the Downtown Ambassador role? 

T: I’m most excited about working to build a more vibrant and cohesive community where all individuals can feel safe and valued.
