Opening Reception: Saturday, November 18 from 2-5 pm A diverse and eclectic selection of works by three of our prestigious and talented artists come together and bridge the gab between abstraction and landscape. All three artist have a lyrical painting style. Laycock is loose and painterly in his depiction of the local landscape of southern Alberta. Robert Marchessault captures his viewers with an imaginary landscape that elicits the feeling “I have been there before”. With an abstracted background the trees at times feel as they are floating. David Newkirk works are bursts of colour and line. Expression through paint. A balance of the hard-edge form with elements of chaos are observation of life and society through colour.
