Gaming and theatre collide in this inspiring digital exploration of parents and children, through the lens of Minecraft. Using Minecraft, the wildly popular, best-selling video game of all time; gamers and performers from 11 years old to 46 enact parent-child narratives from pop culture and personal experiences, live on stage. Follow the journey from Grendel and Beowulf, through the woods with Bambi, to a mother-son prophecy filled with time travel and cyborgs, reminiscent of Sarah Connor and her son in The Terminator. Inspired by the real-life relationship between Theatre Replacement’s Co-Artistic Director, Maiko Yamamoto, and her 12-year-old son's obsession with Minecraft; MINE opens us up to expansive and strange new territories in this production for all-ages.
