The words and actions of Dr. King continue to electrify generations of civil rights activist and defenders. Musical Director Damien Sneed, known for his work as musical director of the Aretha Franklin Band, bottles that energy, and unleashes it on-stage through a living lineage of music and culture, including gospel, jazz, and Broadway. Songs from storied artists like Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Steve Wonder, and Nina Simone and interwoven with spoken word from Dr. King’s recorded speeches. He’s joined onstage by five powerful singers and a quartet of genre-crossing musicians.
A celebrated multi-genre recording artist, Damien Sneed has also worked with legends including Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Jessye Norman and many others.
