A Taste of the Burnersphere is an annual all-ages event created by the Alberta Regional Burning Man Community to bring the 10 Principles of Burning Man closer to home.
For many within the Alberta Regional Burning Man network, Burning Man is more than an event, it is a way of life built upon the foundation of community. Participation in this community is guided by Burning Man’s 10 Principles (Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Decommodification, Radical Self-Reliance, Radical Self-Expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leave No Trace, Participation, and Immediacy) which act as a guiding force for community interaction that align with its core values and ethos. As a local representation of Burning Man culture, this event upholds and demonstrates these principles.
A Taste of the Burnersphere is a celebration of Communal Effort, Participation, and Radical Self-Expression through a festive display of arts, science, and engineering! Inspired by Black Rock City, Alberta Burners will bring a taste of that temporary city, and the context and principles of Burning Man closer to home. Expect to enjoy art displays, workshops, performances, dancing to DJs, and FIRE! Expressive dress and costumes are encouraged for this all-ages event with fun and interactivity for kids and grown-ups alike!
